This coming Saturday 6th December is Small Business Saturday and Caroline has made supporting independent local shops and other community employers across the city a big priority as MP. We need your help on Saturday to get out there and rekindle support for our home-grown businesses. Let’s encourage people to go beyond the big brands and find what they need by shopping locally, supporting independent shops, cafes and other community businesses.
Local shops are a vital community hub, good for our economy and what makes the city of Brighton and Hove so vibrant and distinctive. For every £1 spent in an independent shop – 50p goes back into the local community. Small Business Saturday is as much about getting us to think about how and where we shop – as it is about the impact of our spending choices.
Only with your help on Saturday will Caroline be able to get her message out there that independent business really matters. We’ll be taking to the streets with petitions, stalls, doorknocking, and shadowing the team with a bit of leafleting too, so you’ll have lots of different activities to choose from. We’ll also be providing a yummy vegan lunch for all those who come along. Caroline is usually helping for some of the day and so it’s a great opportunity to grab a chat with her!
